Instant messaging 2.0

{ Tags: None \ Jan8 }

meebo is an online instant messaging tool that lets you sign into your AIM, Yahoo! Messenger, Gtalk and MSN accounts all at once.

On the meeblog it says: “We’re three folks working to bring IM to Web 2.0. Hopefully this lets you get all of your IMing done in one place and makes it easier too.”

I can see it being helpful when you’re not using your own computer but why don’t they just make messenger clients that are compatible with each other? Imagine if you could only send email to someone using the same email client.

    Trillian (Trillian.cc) has been doing this for at least three years now. Only difference is ICQ and mIRC support, and no gTalk support.
