Google Introduces online RSS Reader

{ Tags: None \ Oct7 }

Google have release a web based rss reader (currently in BETA). Gmail subscription is required, and it pretty much has the same characteristics of a Gmail account–same colours, filters, stars etc.

I’ve been toying with it for 20 minutes and it’s VERY slow! In fact, as I write this, it’s not working correctly. I’ve imported an OPML file and now it’s telling me I haven’t any news items. I constantly getting this ‘loading’ image too:

I sometimes get the feeling that Google are rolling things out for the sake of it. Blog search got some bad reviews, Google Talk is…well…basic, this new RSS reader isn’t working (well not for me it isn’t) and their new social community orkut is having problems when users are trying to log in.

Come on Google. I’m sure people would rather have one perfected product instead of a bunch of duds!

Give me Technorati, Skype and Newsgator any day of the week!

    Orkut sucks, absolutely can’t stand it and I’m big on discussion boards.

    GoogleTalk, so much hype and there isn’t a Mac download so it’s no use to me.

    As for the RSS reader, they’ll never ween me of PulpFiction
