BBC leading the way…again!

{ Tags: None \ Sep22 }

It sometimes amazes me how much the BBC are adapting to new technologies and how they really give the consumer what they want.

The Creative Archive Licence Group has been set up by the Beeb, Channel 4, the British Film Institute and the Open University. Basically, it means that some of their archived content (moving images, audio and stills) are available for download. All for free if you are using it for not for profit educational purposes, although there are other rules to follow.

The BBC encourages you to rip, mix and share all the creative content with almost 100 clips, from shows such as Walking With Beasts and Tomorrow’s World, with more added all the time.

The BBC hopes to foster innovation by letting anyone re-use its material for personal and educational purposes under the Creative Archive Licence. BBC Radio 1 launched the scheme with a competition to produce a music video.

The Superstar VJ competition, where participants use the free video downloads to make a three minute VJ mix for the chance to win a live mix on Radio 1. Not bad.
